A Declaration
Hope House stands as a Christian House of Refuge, founded in obedience to God and grounded in the teachings of Jesus Christ.
This house exists to serve those who are weary, injured, abandoned, and burdened — especially those harmed by broken systems and failed institutions.
We affirm that every person who enters this house bears the image of God and is worthy of dignity, truth, compassion, and care.
Our Covenant
Before God and in service to others, we covenant the following:
We commit to speak truthfully and act transparently, and refuse to conceal harm or distort reality for comfort, profit, or approval.
We will not place institutions above people, nor convenience above conscience.
“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
— John 8:32
Truth
We commit to speak truthfully, act transparently, and refuse to conceal harm or distort reality
for comfort, profit, or approval.
We will not place institutions above people, nor convenience above conscience.
“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
— John 8:32
Care
We commit to care for the whole person — body, mind, and spirit — recognizing that healing is not mechanical, but relational and sacred.
No one will be reduced to a diagnosis, dismissed in suffering, or rushed for gain.
Care is offered with patience, dignity, and compassion, honoring the pace and humanity of each person who enters this house.
“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.”
— Matthew 25:40
Stewardship
We commit to faithful stewardship of knowledge, resources, authority, and trust.
We will not exploit vulnerability, inflate outcomes, or claim credit that belongs to God.
“Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.”
— 1 Corinthians 4:2
Humility
We acknowledge that healing ultimately comes from God, not from us.
We will act with humility, seek wisdom, admit limits, and remain teachable.
“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord.
— Zechariah 4:6
Welcome
All who come in need are welcome here.
Prayer is offered, never forced.
Faith is invited, never imposed.
Care is given without condition.
“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28
Our Charge
This house shall be:
a place of refuge, not fear
a place of rest, not pressure
a place of truth, not illusion
a place of service, not self-glory
We recognize that we are accountable not only to those we serve, but to God Himself.
“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.”
— Psalm 127:1
